Our answer to a simple truth: breaking into film is tough, and having a solid network can make all the difference

Our mission is to ensure that aspiring creatives have the support, mentorship, and opportunities that can make all the difference in their careers.

We are all about building community, offering mentorship, and opening doors to real opportunities. Something that many of us wished we had when starting our own journeys. We are currently piloting an 8-week mentorship program, offering a direct, hands-on experience. This program pairs students with experienced professionals in the film industry. It's designed to provide real-world insights and skills that are crucial.

  • Our internship program has successfully launched several careers within the film industry. For example, Andrew Duvall, who started as an intern with us in 2019, is now our in-house producer and leads the production team. Oscar Hockin, originally a participant in our DP mentorship program, has become our Assistant Camera, working directly with our DP. We have provided valuable, paid, or accredited internships to students from DePaul, Mizzou, Cornell, and other institutions, creating not just films but filmmakers.

  • We sponsored the Heat of The Moment Fest, a groundbreaking event designed by one of our interns, attracting over 50 participants to Healthy Hood in Pilsen. The festival celebrated young creators through workshops, a raffle, and awards, underscoring our commitment to fostering creativity and community engagement.

  • In collaboration with Student Director Anton Hakopian, we produced the short film "Bootstraps," working with a crew of film students from DePaul. Lakeshorehy not only provided essential gear but also mentored the student crew, ensuring a professional and enriching production experience.

  • Last year, we initiated a comprehensive mentorship program focusing on the role of a Director of Photography (DP). This pilot paired aspiring filmmaker Oscar Hockin with experienced DP Justin King to produce a music video. Over several weeks, Oscar was immersed in various stages of film preparation and development, mirroring a DP's responsibilities up to the day of the shoot.
